The Broadway Hotel, Morecambe
Text Box: Location:

Picturesque and tranquil are some of the words used to describe our magnificent Lake District and yet rugged Yorkshire Moors.

We have included a steam train ride and boat cruise from Haverthwaite to Bowness which is both picturesque and tranquil. We also have an
included excursion into the Yorkshire Dales.

Morecambe, originally 3 fishing villages Bare, Poulton and Torrisholme collectively became known as Morecambe in the 19th century, makes an ideal base for our picturesque and tranquil tour.

Monday:	Northwards we head, make a detour to the pretty market town of Garstang along the way. Its not market day today, but because Garstang is the world’s first Fair Trade town you can sample great local produce being sold alongside a higher than average number of Fair Trade goods - Garstang should make an interesting stop off!

Tuesday:	To the rugged Yorkshire Moors as we travel via Sedbergh
to Hawes, this town even has its own Ropemaker! Hawes is also home to the Wensleydale Creamery, an ideal lunchtime stop (which is not included). Our return journey catches sight of the famous Ribblehead Viaduct, on the Settle to Carlisle Train route, as we continue through Ingleton to return.

Wednesday: A free day to relax in Morecambe, maybe for a coffee or an ice cream in one of the cafés lining the seafront, or visit the Eric Morecambe statue which looks out across the Bay.

Thursday:	The splendour of the Lake District as we grab the motorway North to come in alongside Ullswater, down ‘The Kirkstone Pass’ to Bowness-on-Windermere, ‘The Capital of the Lakes’. Following our free time we take our
included boat cruise down Windermere to Lakeside, where we transfer to the steam train to take us to Haverthwaite Station and our awaiting coach to return us to our Hotel.

Friday: Following breakfast we take the short hop to Carnforth, do you remember David Lean’s classic film ‘Brief Encounter’? Carnforth was the film’s location, why not visit Carnforth Station and discover the fascinating visitor’s
centre. That famous station clock makes an ideal photo opportunity.

Following our visit we return home.
